Guided Reading and Writing Classes
(25-50 minutes each)
📖Guided reading lessons
Available in a range of levels for each story, these levelled readers focus on reading fluency, comprehension and discussion skills. Students will read the story, review related vocabulary and grammar, and analyze the deeper meanings or morals of the text.
With lots of built-in interactive activities, creative projects and games, these lessons are fun and engaging for young learners!
🗣️Storytelling lessons
Encourage students to re-tell popular stories in their own words, using the provided question prompts and images. This can be done orally or in written form, with the lesson slides automatically generating their final story for sharing.
Throughout the class, you can work on writing skills such as adding more detailed descriptions, using dialogue, or correcting spelling, punctuation, and grammar. This is a great introduction to creative writing, building on stories they are already familiar with.
📖Twist the Tale lessons
Did the hare really just have a nap mid-race? Was the wolf actually the victim of the three little pigs’ evil plans? Ideal for intermediate level students or above, these lessons challenge learners to put their own spin on traditional stories, either using the given prompts or coming up with their own.
With more formal writing practice, including character profiling and planning the plot, these are a great way to develop creative and narrative writing skills.
